Geovisualisation applied in the construction of rural space

key words: land consolidations, geovisualisation

Summary:

Land consolidation is one of most important and difficult processes trans-forming the functional and spatial structure of rural areas in the European Union. In order to make the quality of land consolidating operations a factor with a significant impact on establishing strong, economically efficient farms, facilitating access to roads and other components of technical infrastructure while maintaining the landscape values and biodiversity and protecting rural areas against the effects of natural threats, contractors responsible for land consolidation must be provided with quick, easy access not only to current and skillfully selected data, but also to tools and solutions for their spatial analyses (2D, 3D) together with visualization of the results of these analyses.
This paper presents a potential application of geovisualisation as a sup-porting tool for analyses and studies of a consolidated object with a focus on existing environmental conditions as well as on the occurrence of extreme natural phenomena. Thanks to geovisualisation, it will be possible to generate a more precise and accurate interpretation of spatial phenomena and changes.
