Influence of operation time the efficiency of on effectiveness at sewage treatment process in Lemna sewage treatment plant

The evaluation of the influence of operation time the efficiency of on effectiveness sewage treatment process in a Lemna sewage treatment plant is presented in the paper. The basis for the evaluation included the study of the physical and chemical inflow of sewage to the treatment plant and outflow to the river, realized in years 1998–2000 and repeated in years 2004-2005. The research covered sewage temperature, pH, oxygen concentration, BOD5, total suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen and phosphates. The analysis showed an increase of hydraulic load at sewage treatment plant from 75% in years 1998–2000 to projected 100% (150 m3∙d-1) in years 2004–2005. Also, an increase was observed of concentrate pollutants in inflow sewage for following parameters: total suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen and phosphates. The increase of hydraulic load and pollutants load was caused by deterioration of the quality outflow sewage but for organic pollutants (BOD5 – average 24,6 mgO2∙dm-3) and total suspended solids (average – 26,4 mg∙dm-3), for which the discharge met the demands of water supply and sewage. Permission the increase of quantity of the sewage sludge on bottom ponds was caused by deterioration of quality outflow sewage in the analyzed sewage treatment plant. The anaerobic process in sewage ...

Efficiency of rural wastes treatment in the sewage treatment plant with the sequencing batch reactor

The work contains the evaluation of work of the small rural sewage treatment plant servicing citizens of the Michniów village (Suchedniów community, Świętokrzyskie Province). The basic element of process line is the activated sludge reactor of sequential work, so called SBR. The bases for evaluation elaboration were data allowed by a user of the object. There were: results of treated sewage volume and results of BOD5, COD5 and total suspension in not treated and treated wastes determinations, coming from years: 2004-2005. In the regarded two-years period hydraulic charge amounted meanly: in the first year about 75%, in the next year about 89% of designed output, that is 35 m3·d-1. In the same period in raw sewage average content of BOD5 (577,8 mgO2⋅dm-3) and total suspension (488,8 mg⋅dm-3) were 1,5 times higher, and CODCr content (1124,9 mgO2⋅dm-3) even 2 times higher than the ones taken in the object design stage. This conjuncture, in situation when sewage treatment plant rejected sewage which were bringing by waste removal tankers could be a proof of illegal pumping contents of house cesspools into sewers sanitary, in case of this properties, which are not connect with yet. In these exploitation conditions the waste purification effects in ...

Preliminary results of investigations on transformation of organic and biogenic compounds in small water reservoir

The paper contains preliminary results of investigations on transformations of organic and biogenic compounds in small water reservoir. The reservoir Górny Młyn near Końskie (Świętokrzyskie District) located on the Czysta river was chosen as an object of investigations. The bases of analysis were hydrological and chemical investigations covering measurements of water volume inflowing and flowing from the reservoir as well as determination of its chemical composition. The investigations which covered six measurements series were carried out between May and July in the year 2006. The following indicators of pollution were determined in laboratory by means of reference methods in taken samples of water: BOD2, P-PO4, N-NH4, N-NO2 and N-NO3. Hydrometric measurements showed that the main source of alimentation of investigated reservoir is the reservoir Szawelnia located above, from which inflow to the Górny Młyn reservoir fluctuated between 0,003 do 0,120 m3⋅s-1. Taking into account small stream „without name”, the total amount of water inflowing to the reservoit during investigations was on an average 0, 055 m3⋅s-1, while the amount of flowing from the reservoir was on an average 0,051 m3⋅s-1. The crucial influence on quality of water inflowing and flowing from the decanter had concentration of nitrite nitrogen, which several ...

Impact of treated sewage on sewagetreatment plant in Myślenice on the quality of their receiver

The article contains analysis and evaluation of the impact of clean sewage on sewage treatment plant in Myślenice, in the period 2008 - 201,1 on the physico-chemical composition and water quality of the receiver - river Raba. The analysis conducted based on collected and statistical research: amount and composition of clean sewage and composition of the water receiver in cross-section: Stróże (above of inflow clean sewage) and Osieczany (below of inflow clean sewage). The following pollution index were tested: total suspended solids, BOD5, CODCr, total nitrogen and total phosphorus. Based on obtained results its concluded that in period 2008 - 2011 sewage treatment plant was working properly, what explain quality of clean sewage. What reflected in directly protection of receiver water against pollution. Moreover, based on the results of U Mann Whitney test, concluded that in the both cross-section, composition of the water of Raba river was similar, what explain the results of this test, which didn't show statistically significant differences between average values of concentrations analyzed indicators of pollutions. Based on obtained results its concluded that sewage treatment plant in Myślenice doesn't negatively impact on quality of the water receiver -Raba river. ...

Influence of entrance parameters on maximum flow quantity receive from NRCS-UH model

In article sensitivity analysis of NRCS-UH model on changes of entrance parameters were made. Influence of precipitation hietogram shape, CN parameter and lag time on changes of Qmax1% flows in uncontrolled catchment were studied. Izwór stream catchment were chosen to analysis. It is typical mountainous and forest catchment - 86% of its surface is covered by forest. All calculation were made with use of HEC-HMS 3.4 program. In NRCS UH model, catchment have been divided into particular catchments, for which a weighted average of CN parameter and also lag time have been evaluated. These parameters were an entrance parameters for further calculations. Influence of changes of parameters size and results got from model were established by changing their size about 10% in comparison to exit values and then simulations were executed. There were assumed that parameters in model will be modify till ±50% of entrance values. Calculations showed that HRCS UH model is most sensible on changes of precipitation hietogram shape and CN parameter, which characterized the retention of catchment. In turn, modify of lag time does not influence in fact on change of maximum flow values.     ...

Semi-natural systems of drainage and treatment of stormsewage from the urbanized areas – legal and technical aspects

Living and industrial sewage is claimed to be the only source of the water pollution in urban areas. Therefore the regulation of sewage management – which is building or extension of sewerage systems - is considered to be the suffi-cient protection of the urban water resources. Urbanized areas, especially mu-nicipal – industrial agglomerations become huge sources of air, water, soil, streets, squares, roofs and non-built-up areas pollution. Pollutants washed down from the streets or other impregnated surfaces, during the precipitation or snow-melt, are the serious danger for the soil and water environment. The article reviews the obliging legal regulations concerning the drainage and management of the precipitation water from the urbanized areas. The main attention was paid to possibilities of the retention and infiltration of precipitation water – which is their management in the site where the precipitation originates. Moreover, the examples of created and exploited objects used for retention and infiltration together with the effects of pollutants’ reduction in the treated pre-cipitation water were presented. The basic legal documents concerning the man-agement possibilities and quality standards of precipitation water are the Water Law from 18th July 2001 and The Regulation of the Minister of Environment from 24th July ...
