Evaulation of efficency of sewage treatment plant in Jasło

The article contains evaluation of functionality of sewage treatment plant in Jasło for multiplicity 2010 - 2014. On the basis of the results raw and cleaned sewage physico-chemical analysis, the efficiency of sewage treatment, coefficient of technological reliability, technological efficiency of sewage treatment and risk of the negative assessment of work of sewage treatment plant, were obtained, for following pollutions indicators: total suspended solids, BOD5, CODCr, total nitrogen and total phosphorus.Based on obtained results its conclude the average reduction of pollution on level below 90%. Only for total nitrogen the average reduction is lower and is on level 77%. Based on other values of indicators of reliability work of sewage treatment plant its conclude that the tested sewage treatment plant may be certified to operate in high quality and the sewage treated by this plant doesn't threaten the collector of the treated sewage. ...

Verification of selected empirical methods for the calculation of minimum and mean flows in catchments of the Dunajec basin

The study was aimed to verify the selected empirical formulas to calculate SNQ, SSQ and Qminp% flows in four catchments of the rivers: Cicha Woda-Biały Dunajec, Czarny Dunajec, Ochotnica and Wielki Rogoźnik which are located in the Dunajec basin. The verification was aimed to assess the usefulness of the analyzed empirical formulas to calculate minimum and mean flows in relation to current hydrological data. The data were obtained from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute and include data string from the period of 1980 - 2009. Hydrometric data were evaluated considering their homogeneity and independence using Mann- Kendall-Sneyers test and the trend analysis was performed using Mann-Kendall Statistic S. The Gumbel's method was used to calculate the probability of not exceeding minimum flow thresholds. Based on the obtained results the comparative analysis was conducted between the calculated values of SNQ, SSQ and real flows from the period of 1980 - 2009. The calculations have shown significant differences between the SNQ, SSQ and Qminp% values calculated by empirical formulas and the values determined based on hydrological data. This justifies the need for verification and updating the empirical formulas used previously for the calculation of minimum and ...

Verification of Punzet equation to calculate flood frequency in mountain and high land river in Upper basin Vistula

The study was aimed to verify the Punzet formula to flood frequency (Qmaxp) in two rivers: Lepietnica in cross-section Ludźmierz and Koprzywianka in cross-section Koprzywnica. The verification was aimed to assess the usefulness of the Punzet formula in hydrological calculations, in relation to current hydrometric data. The data- the long-term observation records of the annual maximum floods (Qmax) from the period 1980-2013 - were obtained from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute in Warsaw. The obtained data were evaluated considering their homogeneity and independence using Mann-Kendall-Sneyers test. Qmaxp was calculated using the statistic method of the Pearson III type distribution with maximum likelihood method of estimating the parameters of distribution. The calculations Qmaxp for the Lepietnica River obtained with statistical methods and the Punzet equation, where Qmax50 was calculated with the Carpathian formula, have shown that differences between the results were insignificant. However, the calculations for the Koprzywianka, where Qmax50 was calculated with the Punzet formula for non-Carpathian plain catchments, have shown substantial differences between the results obtained through empirical and statistical methods. This justifies the need for verification and updating the Punzet formula to calculate Qmaxp in non-Carpathian plain catchments of the upper Vistula basin. ...

Impact of treated sewage on sewagetreatment plant in Myślenice on the quality of their receiver

The article contains analysis and evaluation of the impact of clean sewage on sewage treatment plant in Myślenice, in the period 2008 - 201,1 on the physico-chemical composition and water quality of the receiver - river Raba. The analysis conducted based on collected and statistical research: amount and composition of clean sewage and composition of the water receiver in cross-section: Stróże (above of inflow clean sewage) and Osieczany (below of inflow clean sewage). The following pollution index were tested: total suspended solids, BOD5, CODCr, total nitrogen and total phosphorus. Based on obtained results its concluded that in period 2008 - 2011 sewage treatment plant was working properly, what explain quality of clean sewage. What reflected in directly protection of receiver water against pollution. Moreover, based on the results of U Mann Whitney test, concluded that in the both cross-section, composition of the water of Raba river was similar, what explain the results of this test, which didn't show statistically significant differences between average values of concentrations analyzed indicators of pollutions. Based on obtained results its concluded that sewage treatment plant in Myślenice doesn't negatively impact on quality of the water receiver -Raba river. ...

Assesment of seasonal occurance of minimum flow for mountain river by Colwell indicies

The study was aimed assessment of seasonal occurrence of minimum flow (MF) for Kamienica Nawojowska river in cross-section Łabowa - right side tributary of Dunajec, by Colwell indices. Input data obtained from Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, the National Research Institute in Warsaw, were observation series of daily flows for the years 1983 - 2012. Based on obtained data it was computed the basic indices of minimum flow and the following Colwell's indices: predictability (P), constancy (C) and contingency (M). Moreover it was determined of impact of length record and number of classes discharge on values of P.Based on calculations it was concluded that determined for MF of Kamienica river in cross-section Łabowa, value of P at 43% shows predictability below average level. The contingency determines value of P only in 18%, hence that flows are characterized by insignificant seasonality. Moreover it was conclude that length of record has significant impact on values of predictability. But for larger numbers of classes discharges, this dependency was not found. ...
