EVALUATION DRIP IRRIGATION IN THE CULTIVATION OF TOMATO GREENHOUSE IN THE CONDITIONS OF PRODUCTION

Aim of this study was to evaluate the drip irrigation based on tomato crops in greenhouses carried out as the most economical and widely used irrigation system. The object of the study was a horticultural farm with an area of 2 hectares, which is located 20 km from Kalisz town, close to Szczytniki village, near the Kalisz - Łódź route. A drip irrigation system intended to irrigate 50,000 plants is used in the farm. This system is the best tomato irrigation system currently available on the market. It reduces the operating time resulting in reduction of expenditures per unit of output and labour productivity growth. On the farm tomato cultivation is carried out on mineral wool, which makes necessity of systematically irrigation associated with dispensing solutions, where the nutrient content needs to be adapted to a particular stage of the crop, considering individual needs variety. ...

EVALUATION OF AN IRRIGATED PLUM ORCHARD

This paper presents an assessment of the impact of irrigation on the growth and yield of five varieties of plums: Hanita, Elena, President, Amers , Jojo. The plums were grown in individual fruit farm in the village of Pyzdry in Wielkopolska. The assessed plum varieties were planted on stems of Węgierki Wangenheim in the autumn of 2010, on light soil good rye complex. The influence of different irrigation was assessed after 3 and 4 years (in 2013 and 2014) after planting, because in the early years there was no applied irrigation. Irrigation was used when the soil water potential decreased below - 0,01 MPa. The sprinkler "Head" was used for irrigation with a spacing 4 x 3m. Between the rows of trees there were grassy field and rows of herbicide fallow. Before the usage of irrigation (2012) the plum yields averaged 0,8 kg • tree--1. Depending on the precipitation totals in different growing seasons in 2013 and 2014, the doses varied from 10mm to 35mm, including 90mm from the IV to the VII month of 2013 and in an amount from 15mm to 80mm, 200mm in total, in the IV to VIII month of 2014. Under the ...

AN IMPACT OF IRRIGATION OF SELECTED VARIETIES ON HIGHBUSH BLUEBERRY CROP

The paperwork includes estimate of irrigation on yield effect of highbush blueberry. The research was conducted in 2014-2016, on a small plantation located in Przyczyna Górna, in the Wschowski county, in the Lubuskie Province. The plantation's area was 800 m2. The article presents an analysis of five varieties of highbush blueberry: Patriot, Duke, Chandler, Elliott and Bluecrop. The frequency of irrigation and the amount of water supplied to the shrubs depended mainly on the distribution of atmospheric precipitation and the optimal humidity that the soil needs in growing blueberries. The need for irrigation was determined on the basis of soil water suction measurements using tensiometers. The shrubs were irrigated with a drip line with a spacing adjusted to the spacing of blueberry bushes. The annual dose of water used for irrigation were from 144 mm to 303 mm. The research showed that the average crop increase amounted to 167%, because of irrigation. In 2015, which was a wet year, the increase was 140% and in the average year (2014) was 193%. It was not connected only with amount of precipitation, but with the distribution of precipitation at growing season. The best yield was noted for Chandler (32% of yield), Patriot and ...

EVALUATION OF IRRIGATION EFFICIENCY IN SELECTED FIELD CROPS GROWN IN EASTERN WIELKOPOLSKA, POLAND

The paper presents results of a controlled field experiment with sprinkler irrigation of winter oilseed rape (Latin name) cv. Arsenal F1 Linagrain and winter wheat (Latin name) cv. Franz, conducted in the vegetation season of 2016 (dry in terms of the recorded precipitation total) on a family farm in Kobylata, the Kłodawa commune, the Wielkopolskie Province. Water requirement observed as early as April was balanced by sprinkler irrigation in seasonal application rates ranging from 75 mm (rape) to 105 mm (wheat). Sprinkling of winter rape was the factor having a highly significant effect on seed yield volume, on average from 4 plots amounting to 4.1 t·ha-1 and by 17.4% greater than the yield harvested in the non-irrigated plots (control) - of 0.6 t·ha-1. Winter wheat, at the application of sprinkler irrigation, also produced greater yields (by 24%) in comparison to the non-irrigated plots. Mean grain yield of wheat in the irrigated plots was by 1.9 t·ha-1 greater. Advisability of irrigation, apart from higher yielding, may also be indicated by water use efficiency in these crops. Every mm of sprinkled water caused an increase in of rape by 7.9 kg, while in wheat by 17.8 kg. ...

THE EFFECT OF UNDER-CROWN IRRIGATION ON THE YIELD OF APPLE TREES IN THE PRODUKTION ORCHARD CONDITIONS

The paper presents an assessment of the effect of under-crown irrigation on the yield of Fuji Kiki apple trees, in the third year of fruiting in the vegetation period of 2014. Sum of rainfalls during the vegetation period of 2014 was higher than mean rainfalls in the period of 90 mm. Dry spells in the analyzed vegetation period were longer, it was necessary to use a supplementary irrigation (total dose of water - 80 mm). On the basic of obtained results it was found that increase in apple trees yield was higher by 1,8 ·t∙ha-1 in comparison with the yield unirrigated plants. ...

THE IRRIGATION IMPACT ON THE YIELD OF MEDIUMEARLY POTATOES IN SOUTHERN WIELKOPOLSKA

The work presents the research results of impact and effects of applying irrigation by sprinkling machine on the yield of medium-early potatoes. The research and observation conducted in growing seasons 2011,2012 and 2013, on the private agricultural and production farm, in Kurów, located in the Ostrów Wielkopolski district, in the borough of Nowe Skalmierzyce, in the Wielkopolska Province. The area of the farm was 31 ha and 4 ha of potatoes were irrigated. The study confirmed that by using interventional irrigation in periods of water deficits, the medium-early potato yield increased by 30%, against the non-irrigated area. The evaluation of the research results also showed that patchy distribution of precipitation, in the analyzed growing season had an adverse influence on the crop. Frequent and long dry periods contributed to losses and decrease in potato yield. ...
