Preliminary assessment of forests and tree-plantings influence on the arable lands value

The paper outlines preliminary assessment of woods and tree plantings influence on the value of arable lands. Basing on the rich bibliography of the problem and own observation, the author states among others, that: – in the close neighbourhood of agricultural – forest border the yields of plants distinctly decrease, – as the distance from the tree wall increases – yields improve, however on the lands with water deficit, with intensive soil erosion the general balance is positive; on the other lands is rather negative, 14 – negative influence of woods on plant yields in the zone of their close contact depends on their mutual location and appears in the distance up to 15-tree heights (15 h). The proposed algorithm comprises correcting coefficients (percentages in relation to the basic value of arable lands) in the neighbourhood of woods relate to the areas with water deficit in soils with regard to distance and geographical orientation – table 1; and to the areas of differentiated soil quality and contrasting aspect of slopes (S and N) – table 2. The decrease of agricultural real estates value is observed in the areas of water deficit in the distance zones up to 2 h, however ...

Configuration changes of arable land in the plots into rivers

Large river continuously transform their surroundings, causing the need to update all the documentation geodesic related thereto changes. Caused by them concern arable land in the first place. It is directly connected with the definition of land under surface of flowing water, and the necessity of updating the of land and buildings registry. This paper contains a description of the analysis conducted to verify ongoing changes in this area for over three decades. As the object of research part of the bed of the Vistula River with a length of more than 13-hundred miles was used. This segment is located in front of Krakow and has clearly signs of strong meandering. These issue which has been achieved by comparing the documentation created during the establishment of records of land and buildings in the late 70th of the twentieth century and aerial photographs taken in order to update and modernize the LPIS database in 2009. ...

Share of various agricultural land uese in maintaining open landscape of woodless islands in the Tuchola Pinewoods

The Tuchola Pinewoods are mostly big areas of tree plantings. Around the village here there exist, however, fragments of open landscape. For a long time there have been observed, as part of them, changes in land use involving mostly the afforestation of successive areas. In the long run it can lead to radical landscape changes. The paper has tracked down the directions and the intensity of changes in the area coverage within the ƚliwice glade in the Tuchola Pinewoods over the last 136 years (1874, 1985 and 2010). There has been also determined the susceptibility to changes in the use of various agricultural land: arable land and meadows. The changes in the coverage of the area involve mostly an increase in the share of wooded areas. The process affected mostly set-aside fields, while a definite majority of meadows have been still used. A decrease in the acreage of fields and meadows, as compared with the initial state, accounted for 56% and 17%, respectively, however meadows have started 'to shrink' recently; like fields, both before and after 1985. The areas transformed undergo fragmentation, which can lead to the disappearance of open landscape. In the area analysed mostly fields got fragmented. The initially existing ...
