Using the handheld GNSS receiver for land parcels area measurements

Advantages and obstacles of using basic satellite receivers in measurements was shown in the thesis. On the basis of Multiple measurements of a plot, using handheld GNSS receiver, typical errors have been examined. Outcomes clearly prove that environmental and personal factors have significant influence on the er-rors appearing while performing a survey.     ...

Application of GPS handheld receivers in a Uniform Area Payment System for determination parcel areas

The paper consists of several parts. In the first part the technical and legalaspects of the measurement plot in the Single Area Payment Scheme (SJPO) waredescribed. Measurement methods of areas where specified which are used in orderto control compliance declaration of the farmer with the facts. Then compared theGarmin GPS receivers manually according to the criteria of suitability in the workSJPO. The most important of them is: function measurement of area, trace consisting of ten thousand points and correction WASS/EGNOS. The analysis of statisticalplot measured 240 GPSmap76 receiver was a part of summary and conclusion.Carried out measurements confirmed a thesis: an increase in the number ofmeasurements improves the accuracy of parcel areas. ...

Analysis of current accuracy and precision of the manual GPS receiver with EGNOS signal

The paper presents results of test measurements conducted with the use of a manual receiver of GPS (Global Positioning System) signals adjusted to the reception of EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) cor-rection signal which is theoretically to cover Europe and southern part of Africa with its range. However, it is known that Central and Eastern Europe lies on the border of EGNOS range and some parts of Poland have limited access to signals from this system. Test measurements were conducted on selected stationary points with the use of the receiver produced by Garmin GPSMAP 62s, equipped with MAZO GPS active outdoor aerial. During the measurements, spatial coordinates, their reliability, number of satellites received, time of measurement, accessibility of EGNOS signals were registered. Results of the conducted tests indicate broad possibilities of using manual receivers in measurements mainly for the needs of spatial measurement systems but not only. Yet the reliability of results depends on many factors and on keeping a specific measurement regime. ...
